<p><em>Our panelists will discuss Cleantech Federal and State policies; share their views on the prospects for proposed legislation in the 2011 Congress and on how private companies can navigate the Federal Cleantech regulatory landscape. Our distinguished speakers include experts at the Federal and NM State level as well as in the private and NGO sectors:</em></p>
<p><strong>Derek B. Dorn, Staff Director, Finance Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources &#038; Infrastructure and Senior Counsel for Economic Policy, Chairman Jeff Bingaman, Energy &#038; Natural Resources Committee United States Senate</strong><br />
As a legislative lawyer and advisor in the U.S. Senate, Derek Dorn works at the crossroads of energy, tax, and economic development policy.  He is deeply engaged in developing Federal incentives for clean, renewable energy; energy efficiency; and climate change mitigation &#8211; and in leveraging clean energy priorities for economic development.  Since 2008, Mr. Dorn has served as Senior Counsel to Senate Energy &#038; Natural Resources Committee Chairman Jeff Bingaman (D-NM).  Additionally, he serves as Staff Director of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources &#038; Infrastructure (of which Senator Bingaman is also Chairman).  In addition to his energy-related portfolio, Mr. Dorn is Chairman Bingaman&#8217;s principal adviser on tax, economic development, and pension policy.  He handles related issues before three other Committees on which Senator Bingaman is a Senior Member:  the Senate Finance; Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP); and Joint Economic Committees.    Prior to joining Senator Bingaman&#8217;s staff, Mr. Dorn was Counsel to Senator Joseph Lieberman (ID-CT).  Earlier, he managed the legal, economic and regulatory affairs practice of Gerson Lehrman Group, a global investment research firm, where he worked with buy-side investors to execute customized due diligence projects.  Mr. Dorn began his legal career practicing tax, trust, and estate law, first with Milbank Tweed and then Patterson Belknap in New York.  A New York City native, Mr. Dorn received a B.S., with honors in labor economics, from Cornell University, and a J.D. from Yale Law School.  Since 2008, he has been an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center.</p>
<p><strong>Ken Eisner, Managing Director, OE Ventures at One Economy</strong><br />
In this role, Ken Eisner heads up business development with private sector partners, launches social ventures that leverage technology to connect low-income individuals and small businesses to the economic mainstream.  Over the past two decades, Mr. Eisner has been vice president of marketing for e-commerce bookseller VarsityBooks.com, helping to drive them to their IPO in addition to launching their marketing services division; strategic advisor to Nextel, helping to launch their Boost prepaid offering; head of e-commerce and operations for a multi-carrier wireless company; and head of marketing and sales for the largest global e-commerce association. Mr. Eisner has a BA from Cornell and MPP (Masters in Public Policy) and MBA from Georgetown.</p>
